1. His Birth and Childhood

Jesus in Prophecy:
There are hundreds of prophecies in the Old
Testament that were all fulfilled in the life of Jesus. One of the most
amazing is the Time Prophecy in Daniel that foretold the very year He was
to be anointed and begin His ministry as the Messiah!

The Forerunner:
Isaiah foretold: "The voice of him that crieth
in the wilderness, Prepare ye the way of the LORD." Isaiah 40:3. John the
Baptist announced: "He said, I am the voice of one crying in the
wilderness, Make straight the way of the Lord, as said the prophet Esaias."
John 1:23

The Angel talks to Mary: "Therefore the Lord himself shall give
you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall
call his name Immanuel." Isaiah 7:14
"Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and
they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with
us." Matthew 1:23

His Name is John: "And thou, child, shalt be
called the prophet of the Highest: for thou shalt go before the face of
the Lord to prepare his ways; To give knowledge of salvation unto his
people by the remission of their sins." Luke 1:76, 77.
- Born in Bethlehem:
"But thou, Bethlehem Ephratah,
though thou be little among the thousands of Judah, yet out of thee shall
he come forth unto me that is to be ruler in Israel; whose goings forth
have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2.
"And Joseph also went up from Galilee, out of the city of Nazareth, into
Judaea, unto the city of David, which is called Bethlehem; (because he was
of the house and lineage of David:) To be taxed with Mary his espoused
wife, being great with child." Luke 2:4, 5.

The Shepherds see the Angels: "And there were in the same
country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping watch over their flock by
night. And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon them, and the glory of the
Lord shone round about them: and they were sore afraid." Luke 2:8, 9.

The Dedication:
"Lord, now lettest thou thy
servant depart in peace, according to thy word: For mine eyes have seen
thy salvation, Which thou hast prepared before the face of all people; A
light to lighten the Gentiles, and the glory of thy people Israel." Luke
2:29-32.

The Wise Men Come to Jerusalem:
"And I say unto you, That many
shall come from the east and west, and shall sit down with Abraham, and
Isaac, and Jacob, in the kingdom of heaven." Matthew 8:11.

The Wise Men Worship Baby Jesus:
"And when they were come into
the house, they saw the young child with Mary his mother, and fell down,
and worshipped him: and when they had opened their treasures, they
presented unto him gifts; gold, and frankincense, and myrrh." Matthew 2:11

Herod tries to Kill the Baby Jesus:
"Thus saith the LORD; A voice
was heard in Ramah, lamentation, and bitter weeping; Rahel weeping for her
children refused to be comforted for her children, because they were not."
Jeremiah 31:15
"Then Herod, when he saw that he was mocked of the wise men, was exceeding
wroth, and sent forth, and slew all the children that were in Bethlehem,
and in all the coasts thereof, from two years old and under, according to
the time which he had diligently enquired of the wise men. Then was
fulfilled that which was spoken by Jeremy the prophet, saying, In Rama was
there a voice heard, lamentation, and weeping, and great mourning, Rachel
weeping for her children, and would not be comforted, because they are
not." Matthew 2:16-18

Fleeing to Egypt:
"When Israel was a child, then I loved him,
and called my son out of Egypt." Hosea 11:1.
"When he arose, he took the young child and his mother by night, and
departed into Egypt: And was there until the death of Herod: that it might
be fulfilled which was spoken of the Lord by the prophet, saying, Out of
Egypt have I called my son." Matthew 2:14, 15.

Mary Teaches Jesus:
Jesus did not go to the public schools in
Nazareth, He was home-schooled and taught the Scriptures (Bible) by His
mother.

The Passover Feast:
"Now his parents went to Jerusalem every year
at the feast of the passover. And when he was twelve years old, they went
up to Jerusalem after the custom of the feast." Luke 2:41, 42.

Jesus visits the School of the Rabbis:
Jesus went to visit the School at the
Temple and asked serious questions of the teachers there.
- Mary &
Joseph Leave Jerusalem: "And when
they had fulfilled the days, as they returned, the child Jesus tarried
behind in Jerusalem; and Joseph and his mother knew not of it." Luke 2:43.

His Father's Business:
"And it came to pass, that after three days
they found him in the temple, sitting in the midst of the doctors, both
hearing them, and asking them questions. And all that heard him were
astonished at his understanding and answers." Luke 2:46, 47.

Jesus at Home:
"And Jesus increased in wisdom and stature,
and in favour with God and man." Luke 2:52.
